A Successful Conclusion To the 3rd PM MYBA Superyacht Show

The international boat show season opened with the third highly lauded and extremely successful MYBA Pop-Up in Porto Montenegro, the world’s only TYHA Platinum awarded marina.

Over the last three years, this bespoke event has demonstrated the importance of Montenegro in the itineraries of luxury yachts cruising the Adriatic – and often journeying from much further afield. This year was no different.

Notable international brokerage houses including Fraser Yachts, Camper & Nicholsons, Northrop & Johnson, Ocean Independence and Y.CO presented 22 yachts ranging in size from 25m to almost 70m. The weekend offered more than 80 superyacht professionals the opportunity to view the yachts, ready for charter and speak to captains, crew and even directly with owners.

Their schedule was not limited to the perimeters of the jetty however, with insightful seminars focused on the evolution of digital media in the superyacht market and techniques that will help develop business in the future. Daily tours encompassing the spectacular Boka Bay and its rich heritage as well as a vineyard tour to the Savina Winery gave visitors a taste of the activities on offer to charter guests. The weekend concluded with the BMW Boka Bay Youth Regatta, providing a safe environment for the next generation to hone their tacking and gybing under race conditions and perpetuating the Montenegrins’ prolific seafaring legacy.

As Fiona Maureso, MYBA President summarised: "After three years of work with Porto Montenegro at this fair, I feel like we are home. This year we had the best yacht selection when compared to the last three years. Brokers and charter agents have the opportunity to enter into each of them because it is essential to get acquainted with the owners and captains of yachts and to discover this destination. Every time I come here, I'm surprised how many new things we learn about the beauty of the destination. This is a great platform to talk about the charter industry".
